I’m Maria Bourne, a qualified Nail Technician, Beauty Therapist and Educator offering 1:2:1 accredited nail training and beauty courses from my purpose-built studio in Derbyshire. I began my journey in 2008 and opened Bourne Beauty in 2016, gradually growing into a full training space that now supports students from across Derbyshire and the UK.

My background includes Level 3 Nail Technology, Level 3 Beauty Therapy and Level 3 Make-Up Artistry, along with a Level 3 Award in Education and Training and a Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement. These qualifications allow me to deliver structured, accredited training that prepares students for real-world work, insurance and professional standards.

I specialise in one-to-one accredited nail training in Derbyshire. Students choose this approach because it offers more support, clarity and progress than group training. Each course is tailored to your skill level, whether you are a beginner wanting to start a new career or an experienced nail technician wanting to refine your techniques. Training is available both in person and online, giving students flexibility while still gaining accredited certification.

My courses include foundation nail training for beginners, gel polish, builder gel, acrylic or enhancement techniques (if applicable), nail art workshops and advanced skills development. Every session covers theory, consultation, preparation, application, structure, finishing, troubleshooting and hygiene. This creates a complete understanding of nail technology, not just a quick route to a certificate.

All training is ABT accredited, which means your qualification is recognised by insurers, enabling you to begin working professionally. Many students go on to open successful salons, rent rooms, or add skills to their existing businesses. Ongoing support is available for students who want additional guidance after completing their course.

As a multi international award-winning nail artist, my teaching is shaped by both practical experience and creative ability. In 2024 I was placed 21st in the UK for Best Nail Salon and 11th place for UK Best Gel Polish 2025. These achievements allow me to bring competition-level standards into everyday techniques, helping students learn the small details that elevate their work.

My Derbyshire studio is private, relaxed and fully equipped. Every training session is delivered one-to-one, ensuring focused learning without distractions. Clients and students travel from across Derbyshire and surrounding areas because of the clarity, support and confidence they gain from this format.
