Botox for Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)
Botox
Who It's For
Ideal for adults who experience excessive underarm sweating that isn’t controlled by regular or clinical antiperspirants, and which affects daily comfort, clothing or confidence. Suitability is confirmed at a full medical consultation.
Expected Results
A marked reduction in underarm sweating, usually noticeable within a few days to two weeks. Results typically last around 4–6 months (and sometimes longer), after which treatment can be repeated to maintain the benefit.
Pre-care Advice
Avoid shaving the underarms for 24 hours before treatment and do not apply antiperspirant on the day. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours beforehand, and inform Dr Helen of your full medical history at consultation.
After-care Advice
Avoid strenuous exercise, hot baths, saunas and antiperspirants for 24 hours. Avoid rubbing the treated area. Normal washing is fine, and full aftercare guidance is provided by Dr Helen.
Downtime & Recovery
Minimal downtime — most clients return to normal activities immediately, avoiding heat and exercise for the first 24 hours.
Contraindications
Please Read Carefully Before Booking This Treatment.
Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for those with certain neuromuscular conditions, active skin infection in the area, or a known allergy to botulinum toxin. Underlying medical causes of sweating are considered and referred where appropriate.
Side Effects & Risks
Temporary redness, minor bruising or tenderness at the injection sites can occur and settle quickly. A short-lived compensatory increase in sweating elsewhere is uncommon; all risks are discussed at consultation.
