The most prestigious photographic hairdressing competition in North America, NAHA recognises outstanding artistry across 15 categories including hairstyling, colour, barbering, texture and makeup through a rigorous three-round blind judging process.
About NAHA
The North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) is the premier photographic beauty competition in the United States and one of the most respected hairdressing awards programmes in the world. Organised by the Professional Beauty Association (PBA), NAHA has been celebrating exceptional artistry for over 37 years under the tagline "Where Talent Became Legend."
Competition Categories
NAHA features 15 award categories: Avant Garde, Barber, Editorial, Educator, Haircolor, Haircutting, Hairstylist, Inspiring Salon, International Collection, Makeup Artist, Master Hairstylist, Student Hairstylist, Styling & Finishing, Team of the Year, and Texture. The International Collection category was introduced recently to expand the programme's global reach.
Judging Process
All entries go through a rigorous three-round blind judging process where panels evaluate technical excellence, creativity and overall presentation. This ensures an impartial and merit-based selection of finalists and winners.
The Ceremony
Winners are announced at the annual NAHA ceremony — a high-profile industry event that brings together top professionals from across North America. The evening features dramatic live reveals, winner showcases and networking opportunities with industry leaders.
How to Enter
Entry submissions typically open in August each year through the PBA website. Professional hairstylists, colourists, barbers, makeup artists, educators and salon teams based in North America are eligible to enter.
